Rummy Tips & Tricks

These Rummy Tips & Tricks will help you develop a winning strategy while playing Rummy Online. It is recommended to practice Playing Rummy Online Free at various rummy sites before playing cash rummy game.

  • Get your pure sequence (sequence without the use of joker) done first. This will be your life line. This will ensure that you don't get the sum of all points of all cards in your hand lest your opponent declares at any time.
  • Observe the cards drawn by your opponent so that you know which cards are to be hoarded or discarded. Cards close to the ones being kept or discarded are the keys.
  • Discarding high point cards like Ace, King, Queen and Jack and waiting to form sets or sequences with them can increase your points burden lest your opponent declares first
  • Note that a sequence either pure or with joker can have 4 cards as against the belief that it should contain only 3 cards.
  • Go for middle cards like 6, 7 etc as they can form more combinations than the high cards like ace or queen. For example, 6 can be combined with 4,5 or 5,7 or 7,8 to form a sequence.
  • If you already have a pure sequence, then use the available joker to complete the second sequence. In case you have two sequences, use joker to make set/sequence with high point cards. Sometimes jokers are wasted in pure sequences; this will reduce the chances of better hand.
  • It is advisable to keep two consecutive cards over two alternate cards. For example, you have 7♥ and 9♥ and waiting for 8♥ to make a Pure Sequence but you draw the 6♥ of the same suit. Keep it and discard the 9♥. This has two benefits: You can now make a Pure Sequence if you draw either the 8♥ or 5♥, and you might trick the opponent to discard the 9♥, if he has it.
  • Discard idle cards that do not participate in two distinct sequence or triplet chances.
